Mark Hatch, a leader in the Maker movement, also is the CEO of TechShop. TechShop is a membership based workshop for new and experienced makers, that provides all the necessary tools so they can create prototypes and products. TechShop has been the birthplace of various inventions, such as the world’s fastest motorcycle and a life saving premature infant warmer blanket.
Hatch describes the maker movement as one that “captures the dreams and aspirations of a pretty large portion of the United States.” TechShop provides an environment where they can tinker and create in a “Kinko’s for geeks” as described by its founder Jim Newton.
