Empowering Personal Achievement
S.M.A.R.T. Adventures® games seek to empower girls to become self-assured and educated in math, science, and technology. Our goals are outlined here:
- Create fun, engaging, and educational software that is designed specifically for girls
- Help girls attain math, science, and technology literacy
- Utilize scientific research in advanced learning and teaching techniques
- Instill confidence in girls of all ages and stages of education
- Collaborate with girls, parents, and educators to continuously improve our products
Our games allow girls to celebrate who they are and what they can achieve. Personalized interactive features allow each player to become the star of her own adventure by creating a custom avatar that looks like her. The storybased adventure includes an exciting mystery to solve, which helps motivate players to keep playing while practicing math skills. Our game world offers diverse characters that present problems to players and help them work through assignments and challenges.
We want players to have the freedom to explore and try new things, so our games include no timed activities and no penalties for wrong answers. Players receive continuous feedback on progress, and each completed task leads to rewarding and amusing outcomes. The compelling storyline motivates players while introducing science and technology concepts in a light and fun way.
Imagine your child eager to tackle math concepts like basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, bar graphs, place value, measurements of volume and mass, factors, multiples, angles, polygons, and spatial rotation. Watch your child solve problems relating to space travel, chemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, and more. Math practice has never been this much fun!
While our game was developed with the intent of getting girls interested in STEM, boys enjoy playing our game as well and we strive to be diverse and inclusive. We aim to make STEM subjects fun, engaging and educational for all players, girls, boys, children and adults!
High Educational Standards
Our games utilize innovative techniques based on research in motivational and learning theory, specifically as it applies to girls studying math, science, and technology. We develop our games using national and state standards for mathematics education.
Our first educational game, Sabotage at the Space Station, is designed for girls ages 9 and up and is calibrated to what most students learn by the end of fourth grade. The game consists of a set of mini-games focused on different skills, and each mini-game has three levels of difficulty that present different challenges to the player. Many girls may need an adult’s help while playing the more difficult levels at first. The more they play, the more they will master the skills needed to play the most challenging levels.
Our second educational game, Peril at the Pyramids, is designed for girls ages 10 and up and is calibrated to what students learn by the end of fifth grade, including pre-algebra and geometry.
